Make it an IRL summer!
Your One Step :
✓ Make it an in-real-life (IRL) summer with our Kids IRL Summer Packet!
Our new Summer Packet is here to help families keep tech in check and boost in-real-life activities this summer. Because let’s be real - even the best laid tech rules and guidelines can go haywire during the summer. But, with a little intention and planning, summertime can also be a great time to let kids practice being bored and find their way to more unstructured time, independence, new passions, and IRL fun!
We've got your back this summer!
We’ve created a printable Summer Packet for parents - to make it easier to help kids be inspired, creative, and busy while avoiding tech overuse!
3 goals of the packet:
Get tech in check so it’s not the default activity that unintentionally crowds out IRL possibilities!
When there IS screentime, make it as good as possible!
Expand and prioritize IRL activities this summer!
From a printable Summer Tech Checklist to an independence-boosting Bingo card and a screen-free activity tote to take along on summer trips, there is something for everyone! Pick the activities and pages that are right for your family and feel free to share widely! You can download the PDF for free here.
Supercharge Summer Reading!
Want to get your kids reading this summer? Our Kids IRL Summer Reading Chart (download it here), inspired by a family tradition, has the incentive many kids need (and love)!
Especially great for kids who want a way to earn money but aren’t yet old enough for a job, this chart encourages a TON of reading and builds the habit of always having a book handy!
The goal: To get them reading as much as they can - trying to reach 5,000 pages!
Spread some IRL joy this summer!
Consider initiating a text thread or WhatsApp group for parents in your school, grade, neighborhood, or friend group to connect those interested in gathering kids or families IRL over the summer. Then anyone on the thread can prompt meet-ups or "pop-up free play" opportunities (e.g., join us at the local pool this Sunday at 2pm, or send your kid to the local basketball court now to join my kid!). Your child can also plan a simple IRL meet-up and you can help them invite friends.
From our families to yours, we wish you a magical summer full of sunshine, connection, and fun!
